Breaking the rules here and mixing three pieces, but I'm assuming it's the same maker, and sold in the one auction lot.
I've been watching these three vases (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110686349592&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT) on eBay. Are they in any current catalogues that anyone knows of? The uranium one seems to be stained and etched (by hand? plate?). The images seem to be good enough to see the detail.

Hi Cathy
Whoever won them made a real bargain I´d say. To me they look genuinely old, ~mid 19th century.
The red one might be a bit younger, but that´s just a gut feeling.
So - no, I don´t think they are in any current catalogues. These are called ´Ranftbecher´, so they are
beakers actually, not vases.
BTW I think two of them are uranium... :)

Okay, I admit I bought them ;). The finish is in such good condition, I just couldn't believe they were old. There is wear on the bases, but bases are concave and the points of contact are so small that it's only on the very rims. Yes, I believe you're right that the green one is uranium as well.
I'll have a google on Ranftbecher - and yes, you seem to be right with the green one as well. Would they be Egermann then?
-
By the way, I forgot to say THANKYOU! :kissy:

Not Egermann style which would be ruby flash - these are solid, cut and could have been made by a great many glass works from around 1830 to the present day, including Egermann, Harrach'sche and Riedel. The present day ones are likely to be white cased and decorated with tiny flowers. Usually you can tell old from new by the quality of the gilding.

Thanks Ivo! I've changed the title accordingly. I've no idea whether the guilding is more indicative of 1830s, yesterday or any time between, so I'll have a go at taking some photographs tomorrow.

Congratulations, Cathy, well done! :hiclp:
They fetch good prices - even on ebay - here, so they are still missing in my collection. I´m
waiting for a good buy-it-now... ;)
