Title: Milk is good for you-yes? Vase for I.D

Milk glass vase, moulded and has 4 sections of different applied colour, Enamelled leaves and flowers spread over three sections, 20.5cms high, base is ground and 5.5 cm square. The glass is quite thick and substantial; the applied colour is rather uneven and is a very thin coating. The enamel decoration is well applied and detailed, with the stems being built up somewhat. On the base is a P529 in black enamel, some of the base paint has collected into a couple of depressions in the base-they are not letters.
So my query is which factory made this charming item and about what time??

It is interesting that your vase also has P529 on nthe base - I wonder if it meant Pattern #529?  Maybe it referred to the spiral shape of the glass itself?  Would be nice to know wouldn't it?

Have you checked it with a black light? Often these types of vase have uranium in them - I think it's worth knowing if it has or not.

Hi

The alpha numeric part of a harrach coding -in this case P529 - its usually considered to denote the decorative pattern -sometimes such pieces also have a 3 or 4 digit number -which may be the shape!

 :smg: Consider me officially gobsmacked!!!!! :thud: I had no idea-what with the Unica vase and the Webb Corbett beastie,my cup runneth over.
Mike and Ross and Sue you have made an already perfect day even more so. No black light but on the ever growing list, Ross I will definitely suss out the link.
Many many thanks- I was thinking if it was a non entity I would buy some flowers and pretty up my motel unit-ha!

The plant depicted on your vase is bindweed - the same plant as I suspect is on my seriously sculptural unknown pressed vase...

(was this a common Harrach theme - or a common plant for anybody in particular - or during any particular period to be used ... ?????)
