Title: Matchstick Holder/Striker?
Post by: dinklepip on May 28, 2011, 04:06:22 PM
Stands 2.5".  Was thinking of either Davidson or Sowerby but it is unmarked so I am now thinking American?

I think English is more likely. Perhaps one of the less well-known companies.

It is definitely a match holder (the striker is those concentric rings on the base), but it is not US made.  Not sure who made it, however.  There IS an organization for match safes and match holders:   http://www.matchsafe.org/
you might want to see if any of them have info on this piece (and then let us all know!)
