Last one for this evening :)...........I'm sure it's Scandi - and has a similarity to something from Holmegaard, with the wavy/irregular rim and random bubbles, although I expect a few factories made similar pieces. Quite a large ground/polished pontil mark - and height is about 4", and has a mould formed foot rim. Not much wear, but could be 70's - 80's, and I've looked but don't see it in Leslie Pina or Bill Geary - so hope someone might know. thanks. :)

Well, I'm not an expert on Scandinavian glass, but I have two blue bubbled vases in a vaguely Scandinavian style with uneven rims that despite some cheap paper label 'made in Italy' I strongly suspect are Chinese (because of the bright blue colour used). Nicely decorative, but quite recent in date. Of course, yours may be different - just giving this option to contemplate...

I think it is actually from India.

my thanks to both of you. The base of the blue examples are certainly very similar to my clear piece - and Ivo may well be correct about India - although disappointing, as I had much faith in this being the real thing. In truth, what had convinced me was a one off Holmegaard example in one of the Miller's books, and the top, plus bubbles looked so similar to mine that I was convinced, for a while. Never mind, it was very cheap, and a worthwhile lesson learned. :)

Thanks Ivo, can I assume mine are also from that place?

I said India after looking at the blue one - I think that is correct. Not so sure about the first one...
