Title: Small Walther Roland vase?
Post by: Lustrousstone on June 02, 2011, 12:03:12 PM
Does anyone apart from me think this might be a Walther Roland vase? See here (http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/Walther-1933.34+B6YmFja1BJRD0zNCZwcm9kdWN0SUQ9MTI2NyZwaWRfcHJvZHVjdD0zNCZkZXRhaWw9.0.html)

Its size is close enough for the smallest one 22190 and the colour looks good for the less yellow Walther uranium.

Christine, it looks like a Davidson "Chippendale" one I'm selling at the moment which is labelled.

I'll resize a couple of pics and add here for future ref.

Now that is interesting, except mine is an inch shorter and half an inch narrower, which may just mean a different size. The next question is, is yours uranium glass. If it is, it shoots down the theory that Davidson only made yellow (primrose) uranium glass (Skelcher) and only until the 1920s (Stewart). Mine is most definitely uranium and I do have a Davidson 714 fruit set that I have always thought was uranium but couldn't quite believe. It would fit with the date of coloured Chippendale.

No mine isn't uranium Christine. I have taken a few more pics for you to compare shapes.

The shape is the same. I think I'll chalk it down as Chippendale.

I agree, as soon as I saw your pic I felt it was the same shape. Mine could well be post war and yours pre, so your uranium theory could easily still be correct.

Possibly just earlier because according to Stewart, Chippendale was made in colour as well as clear from 1934/5 and only in clear by 1942
