Title: Bowl with Murrines - Murano
Post by: adam20 on June 02, 2011, 05:17:04 PM
Bought in 70s this bowl is of amber colour with a central cane or murrine and five more around inside - 6.5" diam although squared of from top and 4" high with flat polished base

Is it Murano and what maker is it likely to be

Thanks Adam

can you vouch for "bought in seventies"?  Because it looks so contemporary...

Well I gave it to my sister in 80s and I know who I bought it from was an older person - Maybe 80s then not 70s?

At least one of the cane slices (murrine) is, I believe, from the vast range made by Moretti. But that does not help too much since Moretti canes have been, and still are, sold worldwide to anyone who wants to buy them.
