Or a breakfast set. Or something.
Colour me clueless, but if any of you guys could help out, that would be terrific!

Well its USG which stands for United States Glass Co. Pittsburgh, PA. Problem is that USG was a conglomerate of sorts with numerous factories (which would take me pages to go through) & I don't think you set is Tiffin so I'd be more inclined to have you look at Adams & Co. or Bryce Brothers, both of which produced lines of this type. Thank you, you've already told me much more than I knew!
If I could trouble you again - I'm willing to sift through pages - do you think I could find this in a depression glass book? Thanks!
-
You could try. Here is a good source http://chataboutdg.com/forums/

Thanks, Christine.
And I shouldn't have typed 'Depression glass', there's a word for the type of better glass US manufacturers distributed to stores, isn't there? It escapes me for the moment. Ken probably knows what I'm talking about!

Elegant I think is the word, but the forum deals with both.

Yep, that's it, thanks.
