Decided to do a Monart scan on eBay lots more hits than the real thing, see the usual crowd are up to their usual fantasies but this one was extra-ordinary in many ways :24:

:thud: can we keep a watch and see if it actually sells at that price? I'm shocked.

There are a few US sellers who regularly pitch Monart at that level, three on at the moment. I think they just list them to make people curious about what else they are selling never seen one sell. Must be an effective strategy as at least one if those has been doing it for years and has lots of advice articles on eBay... so is probably perceived as a top expert by the naïve. Usually they do at least have good pieces of Monart, first time I have seen a non-Monart pitched like that, probably based their ID on RB and PB here http://www.ysartglass.com/Moncat/Page03.htm

Aesthetics aside, as to what it might be - it looks suspiciously Polish - Makora, perhaps?

I have seen one other piece of this, virtually a duplicate, in the past. No identifying marks, labels, or anything. Pontil is not raised.
