Title: I.D and info of these pieces

had a bit of a clean up of my shed yesterday and came across these pieces of glass i had forgotten i bought years ago at bootsale, can anyone give me any info on them please, they seem to be drinking glasses measuring just under 3 and a halve inches in height, yellow with white streaks with silver and gold decoration (the gold detail is raised)

Can't help with the actual glass but Gruss aus Stettin appears to be a name place in Germany - so possibly holiday souvenirs?  I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong ;)

Anne, you are perfectly right: "Gruss aus Stettin" means "Greetings from Stettin" :)
Stettin was German until 1945, when it became part of Poland; might help with dating the pieces.

Can't help further, though...

thanks Anne and Michael for your replys, i didnt even think of looking up the wording on them, i assumed that it was a man and womans names like a wedding gift haha,

your right, from 1945 it changed its name to Szczecin, so these glasses have to be German pre 1945, well thats a start thanks

these are from the 1920s, and more likely German than Czech. And it is unlikely that you will be able to poinpoint a maker.....

                                    i forgot i had bought these years ago at a boot sale, i suppose they would have been mass produced and wont be worth listing for sale on here or ebay??

Maybe you can put them on the local Polish auction site, there is bound to be some local interest.

Those like like they might be uranium glass; some of the yellow and white splodgy is. If you have one try shining a UV light on them. You might get either a bright green glow (uranium) or an orange glow (cadmium). Uranium would make them more desirable in the UK.

ok thanks i shall get a shot of a uv lamp and give it a try, i bought them several years back at a bootsale for 20p along with a couple of small clear glasses engraved/ etched?? with vines, small conical shaped if i remember correct, also a couple of the old ice cream glasses shall try and find them next time weathers nice and i can empty more of the shed

oh that looks similar colourway too
