Presumed it was Kralik 'Snakeskin' but not sure now,7.5 inches tall, moulded base and silver rim with a London hallmark for 1904,help please,
-
Rather hoped someone would recognise this so here's another try ;D ;D
-
Not sure what it is, but I know it is not Kralik Snakeskin......

Keith I was just searching something else and came across this piece from Max. Unfortunately I failed to read the whole thread but I think it was id'd as Rindskopf.

It reminded me of your vase here.

Thanks m,it is similar and I did consider Rindskopf,it's the closest I've seen yet ;D ;D
-
I could be wrong, but the pattern looks the same as the vase in this ebay listing:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180693664427 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180693664427)
Which in turn would look right at home in the "Mother of Pearl" section of the Kralik website here:
http://www.kralik-glass.com/kralikmoparray.html (http://www.kralik-glass.com/kralikmoparray.html)
Not sure if this makes it Kralik or not?
-
Thanks Wayne(I know this site well ;D) it does look similar to some the only difference being the size in the pattern ;D
-
Keith actually having looked again, your pattern is very well defined compared to the Rindskopf and your pattern seems a lot more regular...sorry, so perhaps not.

Max's Rindskopf has been swung though; that would distort and stretch the pattern
-
Christine,my piece also looks a little stretched towards the top so maybe??

Max's vase is definitely a Rindskopf Hyacinth in a Martelé decor. The Martelé decor is more irregular in shape and form of the pattern, as to simulate a hammered surface. The decor on Keith's piece is quite defined and geometric pattern of diamond patterns. I have not seen this decor from Rindskopf....
In respect to the Kralik MOP pieces, in general the undersides are flat and well finished. The piece in the example on ebay has a very finished and detailed look to it. Also, the diamond pattern on Keith's piece appears to be closed diamonds almost all the way to the center of the underside. It does not appear to be that way on the underside of the ebay piece......
The underside of Keith's is not flat, but appears concave to a degree in the very center.... and the very center pattern is not as clean and tight as the example vase on ebay is.....
Not sure who it is..... these are just some observations....
