Title: Wedgwood or Murano squirrel....any ideas appreciated. Czech?
Post by: rosieposie on June 29, 2011, 11:55:46 AM
Good day to you all.....this rather 'green' squirrel is listed on eBay as Wedgwood.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140569944426

I have quite a collection of Wedgwood glass animals including about a dozen squirrels.
This looks all wrong to me........there is a definite 'style' to Wedgwood squirrels and this doesn't match up (IMHO) and the colour is definately not one I have seen with Wedgwood.

Do you think it could be Murano??
As always, any help will be very much appreciated.

Doesn't look like Wedgwood to me either Rosie, I'd lean towards Murano too or maybe Scandinavian.  Actually, it reminds me a bit of this Murano swan by V Nason & C:

Hi Wayne :hi:

Oooh, I would recognise your V. Nason swan even without a label. Lovely!
Did V. Nason ever use this lime green colour??
I am even wondering if it might be  :or:

To be honest I don't know much about V Nason glass, it was just the way the colour faded from dark to pale that reminded me of the swan, maybe someone else will know more...  ;)

Perhaps the Mods could add Czech ?? to this heading to attract the other collectors, in the hope that it can be identified Please.
In the meantime, thenks Wayne for your input.  :sun:
