Hi, had a search but did not find any leads to this glass bird and artist. Its 508gr and 4.25 inches tall. green colour sommersed in clear glass. Not a polished flat base but looks to be hot finished if thats the terminology .

I would say Seguso...despite the fact the tail is quite unusual....the body shape and beak look very 'Seguso' to me.....but I will keep looking and report back if I come up with anything more definate.

Thanks Rosie, its quite a well made piece but still looking for a the ID.

Hi Malcolm, here is a pair of Seguso long-tailed birds....I know they are not the same as yours, but the similarities are, I think you will agree, enough to show why I think yours might be Seguso.
On with the search..... :wsh:

Hi Rosie, was there a link for the birds you found as there was nothing in the last post.
Many thanks
Malcolm

Sorry Malcolm. :usd:

I don't know who did your bird, but I would say not Seguso VdA or Archimede Seguso. It just isn't their normal style. It seems to me to be a bit newer -- 1980s and later. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks Rosie and Anita for all your help. I will keep this little bird until its gets I/D.
Thanks for a great site and the stirling work everyone puts into it.

I found a pip that reminds me of yours. It has a small bill and a compressed tail, but the base is very similar. The pip has a Cenedese label. I wish I could post the pictures, but they aren't mine. malcmat, your bird does remind me more of a Cenedese-type piece, so it may be a good way to look. If you want to see the pictures, just email me. The coloration is very different, but there are similarities.
