Title: Caithness bowl
Post by: adam20 on July 13, 2011, 05:23:44 PM
Not having the book - I wondered what the range number and pattern were for this Caithness bowl in amethyst cased glass

Etched with a picture of British Isles - 4" high

I have seen them a lot in my travels and sometimes they are plain and amber, never seen a clear one

The shape is a classic design by Denis Mann first used for the Mastermind trophy, subsequently other sizes were added. Comes in every colour you can imagine and used in a lot of ranges. Your pattern number would depend on the design engraved on it - assuming a standard product and not a special where the bowl was also used frequently.

Hope you got Shiona and Brian's book in 2010 though!
