Title: Diamond optic large mushroom posy Webb? Walsh?
Post by: Lustrousstone on July 15, 2011, 06:40:43 AM
...or even Stevens and Williams? This large (10-in.) diamond optic mushroom posy is in a shade of yellow uranium (veering towards amber rather than green) I associate with Walsh Walsh or Webb. It has a small polished pontil mark and is lead crystal. I can't find anything similar in the diamond optic though. Can anyone help please.

Very similar to my mystery blue one in terms of shape and size, but without the optic ribbing yours has.

I realised I had forgotten to look in Skelcher. His second book Vaseline Glass: Fascinating Fluorescent Beauty has a smaller version (p128). He says probably Webb Sunshine Amber, and that the pattern matches a marked piece in Big Book of Vaseline Glass (I'm not entirely convinced). He also says the density doesn't match, nor does the uranium content. I say the colour is way off. I think I would probably rule out Webb, despite his claim. I'm also not sure the quality is quite there.
