:hi:
I have had this for quite awhile, picked it up because it was a cheap oppie find & i thought it may turn out to be something.
The other night i was playing around with a black light going over some pieces & this vase showed a fab glow.
It turned quite orange to the base, lighter up top & then around the lip/rim it showed red & orange all the way around quite strongly & in flat not see through (if you follow me)
In the daylight this vase is more of a yellow, the photo's were taken at night & it completly changes.
It looked lovely, sadly i could not take a bigger pic because i only have a sml UV light that fits on my key ring, handy though when out & about.
Why has it come up this way & is the vase anything special :X:
cheers kat

Very common in yellow/orange early to mid(ish) 20th century glass. Not used so much any more as a colorant because of its toxicity, although when trapped in glass it's not going to get out that easily.

This is really scary for me http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/norfolk/4507036.stm, because I lived here then and my Dad who was born and died there is one of the oesophageal cancer statistics.

Lustrousstone,i'm sorry,thank-you for sharing!
Some things are not fair or right.
This UV light i have is so small i really need to get a better one.
I could not sleep & was running around the house shining it everywhere, was having so much fun because off all the diferent things happening.
Yep like a kid in a candy store :smg:
Has anyone any info about the glass itself & not all the dangerous goodies in it.
I have marked all the links so i can go back & read again,thank-you again for them.

Can we have pictures against a white background. The black makes it difficult to see what is going on (in focus would be good too ;) ).
