Title: Glass bow/dish - don't know the words to describe it
Post by: wolkenreb on August 07, 2011, 01:25:23 PM
Hi.  I like this little bowl http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290589551240&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
but don't want to go for it unless it is a 'good' one.  Is it possible to ID?

Also, how do you describe the swirly bits and is it 'cased'?

Many thanks!

Sea Glasbruk have made similar, but I think Chinese is probably more likely.  This thread has a bit more info:

Yup, I'm seeing these all over the place.  Sometimes without the outer colouring, just whitey swirls instead.  Don't know where they're from, but they're modern.  Seem to see them a lot in charity shops.

I've seen one with a label.
Made by Fartylite, Taiwan.
(I suspect there might have been a tiny bit of the lettering missing....... and the capital F might have been a P, but you never know these days!)

(how are your socks today, Nancy? Mine are 4 shades of blue with great big spiders on them.)

Hey, thanks for the quick replies everyone.  I'm glad I asked - still an awful lot to learn.

Sue - just the usual wee black jobs!
