Title: Blue flashed pink glass - Powder Bowl
Post by: Max on August 07, 2011, 02:03:13 PM
Not sure who made this pretty powder bowl.  Wondering if it's Czech or whether (which I was hoping for...when I bought it) if it's Stevens & Williams.  The cutting isn't top quality, but the pale blue and pink glass are unusual.

Any ideas anyone please?

Thank you, but it's not a great reaction for uranium Christine. The knop on the top of the lid, where the pink glass is thickest gives a dullish yellow glow...as if there's a small uranium content perhaps?  :-\

No, not uranium, that's manganese. it's just that at the last glass fair there was a huge blue cut to pink bowl where the pink was uranium!

I suspect that this is not S&W, partly because of the strange/differently star cut base, and partly because the cutting to the body and lid doesn't look as intricate as I would've expected for them.
