Title: Cranberry or Wine Red W/Gold
Post by: Ohio on August 11, 2011, 02:54:55 PM
I hardly ever buy any Murano like this, probably a generic Murano piece, but figured I's ask if anyone had any ideas of whom might have produced it. 7" X 4" extremely for its size, Cranberry? W/more gold heavy threading than I've seen in ages. It was what I consider reasonable for $10 US & a little showy with the color so I bought it. Any ideas/guesses/advice appreciated. Normally I just buy birds/fish/animals, etc. Ken

HI Ken

This bowl definitely exhibits all the qualities of Murano so check the base for signs of wear as it looks very much like a Seguso piece from the 50s.  You should find the base has been ground and it may indeed have a signature that has been worn away but hard to tell from the piece.

Ciao
