Title: Murano or not?

Bought this the other day from a saturday fair and the seller said that it was a Murano Somerso mold stretch vase c1970s im only asking as i like it a lot and would like to know as much about it as possible it stands 18" tall with the diameter at 5" its quite a heavy piece, and is a reddy purple colour with the tips at the top having clear glass around the edges.

I've said it before here, don't believe dealers they are unreliable.

Ivo many thanks for the reply, he wasnt a dealer just a saturday morning car boot seller, this was the only piece of glass he had on sale.  :thup: :thup:

I think we've had similar on here before and there was no definite conclusion, so that probably rules Murano out

I wouldn't rule out Murano completely, at least not until I saw clearer pictures, including one of the base. It's one of those pieces that I find very difficult to attribute as there are a number of contenders. I suspect that a number of people have looked at this piece and wondered without commenting as they have nothing specific to offer.

I should add that I don't mean to imply that because I can't identify it, it's not a very nice piece of glass.
