Hi everyone,

anyone has any idea where this huge penguin might come from? It measures ca. 23cm (about 9"), 2 kg of glass,

Hello amarillo and welcome to the board! We're not ignoring you, it's just that at the moment no-one has any idea what your piece is. You have to be patient - not everyone logs in every day, and sometimes it can take a while - occasionally it has taken years for a piece to be identified.

That said, my immediate thought is that your penguin could be contemporary Chinese.

If pushed, I'd have to agree with Cathy about penguin being Chinese.  Of course, he could come from almost anywhere in the world where glass is made in quantity.  I think you can safely rule out Italian or Czech as really your penguin is quite rudimentary in design and I'd expect a greater degree of skill and style from either of those countries.  The Chinese are flooding the marketplace with Sommerso (as the blue inner colour on your bird) pieces, and the fairly lumpen colouring on yours leads me to think this is where it comes from.
