I thought I had found a lovely piece of murano 'scavo' glass but recently I have seen something with a similar finish (entirely different shape) and a made in Taiwan sticker.
Have I made a mistake?

I think this could be Lafiore Spain perhaps, but I could be wrong.

Thanks, a quick google image search seems to give a positive ID. I'm very happy. They do/did some lovely stuff.

The Thorncroft collection seem to be dedicated

to this glass company
Thanks for doing a positive ID. on the Lafiore.

You're welcome :)

Taiwanese glass is mostly good, not junk. Just under documented.

I'll take that onboard and give it more consideration next time I see it. I should have said 'less desirable'.

To see how difficult it can be to determine, have a read through here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,35420.0.html and see how a Taiwanese piece raised an interesting discussion. :)
