Never seen this shape before ever - base looks fairly shiny, is there any wear scratching visible on it?

hi anne, thanks for help, there is some light base wear, the weight and feel of the piece persuaded me to buy it, the base is polished and looks similar to murano or bohemian except for the small ground pontil,i also have not seen a similar piece,it is very heavy, will keep looking, thanks again for your help eric

Is the blue line a trailed spiral?

hi frank, thanks for reply, yes it is a trailed spiral which seems to merge with the body of the vase,it is not laid directly onto the vase body, the spiral stands slightly proud but also slightly recessed if that makes sense, sorry if i am confusing things but do appreciate any info thanks again eric

Vase is handblown, shaped in a dip mould. The trailing into a spiral depression is fairly unusual as though the spiral was first made with a tool and then the threading applied. Quite a job, and with the quality of base finish probably a top glassmaster.

which country are you based in or got the vase from?

hi frank, i live in the uk, i obtained the vase from a friends parent along with a scandinavian vase and an austrian palme konig vase, i believe the person collected glass from different countries and was an avid collector, i appreciate any input so much,it is a nice vase and i am happy to own it but would love to find its origin thanks again eric
