Post by: chriscooper on August 27, 2011, 01:27:32 PM
Bought this on eBay for a friend in the States first impression it's got a crack in the base ? on close inspection with the loupe 99% sure it's actually a wisp of glass that's run of the trailing anyone agree, very fussy my man in the States and may need some reassurance  ;D

I think it is a run off the trailing. However, to double check I would tilt it slightly outside in daylight and if it shimmers be careful as it may be a crack.  Looks like a whispy trail run to me though.

Hi Chris,
It could be easily removed by a glass restorer...............

Pretty sure you are both correct just making sure with it being for someone else, thanks
Pat,  you have probably guessed it's for a mutual friend who has just discovered the beauty of these Mdina trailed pieces and realized he can get 3 or 4 of these for his money, it is a nice one, good colours and a good size 6.5" tall and 4" across pretty sure he will be pleased with it.

Hi Chris,
I have just looked at all the other images of this vase and as you say it is very good................ certainly as good as Whitefriars studio range.

              Patrick.
