Title: controlled bubble stem could be from Scandinavia
Post by: Pglazer on August 29, 2011, 12:06:06 AM
Hello Experts,

I purchased a set of stemware today at an estate sale. The owner stated they were from Scandinavia. I have searched on line and cannot identify the maker. I am out of my limited knowledge league on these
I would appreciate any one who could tell me the maker.
Link to a photo is below.
Thanks for any help
Patty

Researching a controlled bubble paperweight, I came across something similar to these attributed to Erickson.  Different colour scheme but might be worth researching further.  Link to example below

They look right, there is a similar design from the Swedish glassmaker Aseda but yours do look like the glasses in the link provided by Jeffingtons. The Aseda glasses come in three sizes (2 sizes here): https://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/ScandinavianGlass#5430334855253082434

I don't know much about Erickson glass, and I dont have an example, however all the ones I have seen pictures of have extremely well controlled small bubbles, and yours look too large and not controlled enough.  I'm not saying they aren't, but I would lean more towards Scandinavian.

Patty, a photo taken level with the glass showing the shape and profile would help.
