Title: Blue and amber bowl - is it Murano?
Post by: jakgene on September 01, 2011, 08:57:45 AM
Okay - I know it is an ashtray and I always said I wouldn't buy them.. :-[.. But it was too gorgeous a piece of glass to resist.  The shop called it a bowl LOL

I really cannot work it out. It looks really deep turquoise blue around the top but I cannot see a layer of that colour - it looks almost clear over the rest of it - amber inside, but the colour just seems to really intensify at the top.

Firstly is it Murano? I am a Murano newbie!

it seems to have good age wear - or it has had a very hard life.

any idea of maker? age?

any and all info welcomed
thanks
JAK

Thanks everyone.

I ordered my first book on Murano a couple of weeks ago but it hasn't got here yet,(coming from USA)  so am shopping in the dark a bit  :)

However I liked it so much I bought it anyway, without knowing whether it was Murano or not - I suppose the liking it bit is what really matters when it comes down to it  ;D
