Title: I think this may be an early IOW paperweight.
Post by: ahremck on September 08, 2011, 12:03:49 PM
This weight has not got a clear flame mark but it does have a button.  It has a silver swirl.  I bought it from a local Antique Centre and suspect it is an early Isle of Wight Glass Paperweight.

Opinions sought from those of you far more expert about IOW than I am ever likely to be.

I wouldn't rule it out.

Can you make out a flame shape in the base button bit? It's hard to tell from the photo.

My concern would be that pwts were either polished flat or had an applied foot pad - not a button in the middle.
