Title: Italian centrifugal-cast 'SakiLa' bowl with 'BW' / 'WB' monogram.
Post by: Pinkspoons on September 08, 2011, 09:53:30 PM
Dug this one out of the shed today, with original box. I'd guess it's from the late 1970s or into the early 1980s, based on the box graphics.

It's a large centrifugally cast bowl with stylised swaying trees/fronds against a pitted textured background.

According to the original box the design is called 'SakiLa 25', and was made in Italy. The company is a bit of a mystery, as its only representation is a monogram (probably BW or WB), and the tagline "con il fascino dell' artigianale" (approximately, "with the allure of artisans", if my thin grasp of Italian isn't too far off).

Thanks for looking, and any help gratefully received.  :)

Searching in English didn't show anything, but a quick search with Italian keywords brought up a website in English ( ::) ) that seems to show it's still in production in blue glass... but no sign of a manufacturer name.
