Bit of an unusual preety piece very heavy for its size very thick glass with heavy base over 2 kg in weight only 8.5" dia 3" height plenty going on in this one the base is deep red just 1/4" this contains perfectly concentric controlled bubbles above the base is clear glass then the main bulk of the glass is a cloudy greenish colour when viewed from some angles appears to be vaseline like swirls hard to explain it appears to have some age by the wear any ideas of the origins???
Thanks for looking.

First thought was that I have seen a Per Lutken bowl from the early 50s somewhat similar - the thickened rim, the vaguely "Fionia/Selandia" shape. I have one similar but with lots less bubbles. Also the outer green seems very close to Holmegaard's "Antigron"(hope the spelling's right - but it is close".
Second thought was that Galliano Ferro were particularly good with controlled bubbles.
Third thought was what would the colours look like against a white background, away from the edge of the house(which accentuates the blues) and preferable not in direct sunlight so shadows don't confuse too much. That "smokiness" is intersting and I associate with Murano.

Hope these show the colour a bit better thanks for looking and deliberating :smg:

It has not dissimilar features to some rather gorgeous and slightly unusual, reasonably recent (given they only seem to make paperweights now) Caithness Art Glass.

I had a bowl quite similar to this some years back which was marked Caithness. Yours looks to be much thicker, and the colours are completly different, but the net of bubbles and style are the same

Been trawling again - found a pic of jakgene's vase which is in the range I suspect this might be.
(I'm sure it has a thread of its own, but I can't find it. :-[ )
