Shallow bowl about 8-in diameter with iridescence inside and out. Has a sort of light textured effect on the inside and the bowl rim is textured to look like wood. Colour looks OK for Loetz (i.e., like Loetz Olympia) and it glows brilliantly under UV light. No pontil mark, as-moulded base rim.
Is it Loetz or is it American please? (or A N other?)

That is called stretch 'something' Czech likely.

Christine, I saw a bowl and two candle holders at Shepton a while ago, the finish looked the same as this bowl (although I know nothing about these things so that 's not relevant lol) but the colour was a bright lime green, but when I got home I tried to look them up and came across this site. You probably know it already but thought I'd post it here just in case.

Thanks for that M; I'd forgotten about it. I need to go and measure it carefully now, as there seem to several possibles

You're welcome :)
I've only ever come across that one set and they were absolutely gorgeous but out of my pocket reach unfortunately.

It's Diamond Glassware Co. 1921-1930. A flared cupped bowl in green. http://www.shetlarglass.com/stretchglass/SGCompanies/Diamond/Diamond2.htm

Thanks for the reminder that it might be stretch

It's indeed "stretch," and could be a Diamond Glass-Ware product ... but Fenton made a similar shape in our Florentine Green in the 1920s. Some careful measurements are in order, as is a good look at the profile of the marie.
-
The base is 3.5 in; rim to rim is 6 in; height is 1.75 in; and the maximum width is 7in. Does the Fenton bowl have a textured finish to the rim? I can't get a picture of the marie ATM.
-
The "textured" finish is what collectors call "stretch glass." The piece was iridized with a spray of metallic salts and then finished to its final shape. I think this bowl is simply "cupped" rather than "flared and cupped." The height and diameter dimensions of these sorts of pieces will vary, so the size and profile of the marie are the keys to sorting out the manufacturer.

Christine, here's a link to a Fenton bowl bowl, that I stumbled across the other day, which reminded me of this thread.....

The actual edge of the bowl is physically textured on mine and squarish; you would think was damaged except the iridescence is in all the grooves and irregularities. The edge of that Fenton bowl, besides being a different colour, is smooth and rounded. I'll take a picture in daylight tomorrow
