Title: Small Black Cut Millefiori Canes Vase
Post by: svazzo on October 05, 2011, 12:13:39 AM
Hi Everyone!
Was opening up some boxes from storage and I found a piece I had totally forgotten about.
It is a small vase in Black covered all over with little cut millefiori cane pieces.
Some with multi-stripe patterns and other with aventurine flecks in them.
Would anyone know where this piece was made and when?

Thank you all in advance for any information!
Javier

That is different there Svazzo, but it sure has some *funk* to it

Could it be a Studio piece, rather than Murano ??  Just as a guess ?????  :ho:

Hi Rose,
I do not think it is Murano at all, that is why I posted it here.

Here are 2 other pictures, including the bottom.
It has a pontil mark, and ground flat as well.

Anyone have ideas of where I can start looking for information on this piece?
I have checked online and have not found anything similar.
Have also emailed a few Paperweight websites but have not received any replies.

Thank you all again for any help and info!

Javier, the shape reminds me of a Ferro-Lazzarini bottle I had. I posted a couple of pictures of the bottle. The bottle had a simple stopper that went with it, but the stopper didn't fit. If I remember right, the bottle was 5-6" tall.
