Bought this at an auction in Bat Cave, NC. It sold for almost nothing with 2 other vases that I can ID.
Trying to find out the maker of this lovely tall(over 1ft)vase, triangular shaped at the base up to an open almost open mouth tongue out top.
It is very heavy and beautiful to look at especially in bright light.
Hope these pictures are good enough.
Thanks,
Tony

Just love the top...

I like it, base finish might point to China. I posted a link to a Chines glass school in news yesterday it gives an indication that they are beginning to recognise the value of named artists. Which is a great development. Yet the piece also implies Studio art... so might be traceable...

I read the signature as Ian I or Jan J

Could also be Dan D.

Could well be Ioan Nemtoi, couple of examples of his signature here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,37151.0.html

Am leaning toward Dan Dailey but have not been able to compare a signature...this could be completely off base but a hopeful guess.

If this is the same Dan Dailey, you might be able to email a picture of the signature to this site to see if they recognise it???

Still searching for a maker. So far all leads have been dead-ends.

That's life ::)

Try checking Dan Bancila - also a Romanian glass maker.
Edited - actually no, it doesn't look like the signature I've been able to find. Sorry.

Another by the same maker here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,65384.0.html
Thanks to Anne's detective work it turns out to be Romanian artist Dino Diaconescu.
