Title: Clear wavy topped tall vase - Modern high street ware?
Post by: heartofsklo on October 07, 2011, 08:33:29 PM
Found this today and liked the shape but would like to find out if it is known to any on the board. It measures 24cm tall and the top rim is 20cm at its widest point, no marks to the base. I am assuming that it is modern.

Have these sort of wavy shapes come back into fashion in your part of world? Around here the new vases still have very basic shapes. Anyway, I really don't know much about modern glass fashion... But the shape as well as the ribs remind me strongly of 50s-60s vases. I've seen rims like that in German and Belgian glass, and probably other European countries, it might be of that period?
