Title: Is this Murano?
Post by: Doris104 on October 09, 2011, 06:27:14 PM
I have been researching this piece for weeks, and still can't find a good example to tell me whether this is Murano or not. :thud: If anyone can tell me, it would be much appreciated.   The bowl is 8.5 inches across the top from peak to peak and 3 inches tall to the top of the peaks.  There are no mold marks or seams in it so I am assuming that it has been blown/formed by hand.   Thanks for your help.

Yes, it looks like it is from Murano. This type of bowl was popular in the 1950-60s. I have been able to find several very similar to your bowl from that time in Murano, but I haven't found your exact bowl yet. I feel confident that it is Murano glass, however.
