Title: I've gone quackers! Murano duck 3 - maker unknown
Post by: jakgene on October 12, 2011, 01:04:09 PM
I bought this one from New Zealand. I did find what I think is an identical image on google images with a label - attributed to Murano  see link here
http://www.carters.com.au/index.cfm/item/100527-a-green-murano-art-glass-duck-triple-cased-in-green-orange-and-c/ (http://www.carters.com.au/index.cfm/item/100527-a-green-murano-art-glass-duck-triple-cased-in-green-orange-and-c/)

However it is a very small image and I cannot tell whose label it is. I don't subscribe to Millers so could not get any further info from it. Would appreciate any advice as to maker or age if anyone can help.

Mine I would describe as turquoise amber and clear rather than green. He is 20 cm or 8 inches tall.
Has some base wear but it is difficult to photograph as the base is indented and the wear is only on the very narrow border of the base.

He is lovely though.  I'm rapidly getting a flock of Murano ducks. My flock of Whitefriars ducks will be getting jealous :-)

JAK, this is a generic Murano duck. I don't think you'll be able to attribute it any further than that. I've seen several of these ducks with Murano stickers.
