Always confuses me, well made lime green and white, cased in clear glass.
Archimede Seguso or am I getting ahead of myself :-[

More photos here..... flat polished base 5.5" high

A clearer shot of the tail would help, but this looks like neither alabastro nor opalino. It could well be Murano, and I'd guess fairly recent.

Don't know who made it yet, Chris. It is a sommerso bird with a core that looks like lattimo to me. Neither opalino nor alabastro, but very nice.

Chris, I found a picture in my file of this design in a red-amber color with a Salviati label on bottom. The pictures are small and not mine. I'll email them to you so you can compare the form.

Thanks Anita, had a look at the pic and found some more Salviati to my untrained eye the head and beaks look close but then again so did the Seguso ones  :-[ think it should be made compulsory for manufacturers to sign all pieces  ;D

I haven't seen a tail like that on Archimede Seguso birds. I'd say Salviati because it looks like the design I sent in the email. All the characteristics are there. The peach is also cased, I noticed later. I could see the clear in the tail. The only thing I wished is we could see the tail better in the picture to make sure it had the big middle feather.

Pretty sure you are right Anita if I hold this one  and tilt it up slightly they are virtually the same, looking at what is visible the tail looks similar too, the Seguso comment was not questioning the Salviati attribution just thinking out load realising how little I know  ;D

I understand completely. I see some things I consider for the zoo, but if I'm not completely sure, I don't put them in there. If I was completely sure, I would be begging you to let me include it. Maybe we'll find another one like it where we can see the tail well.
