Title: Pressed glass cat possible centrepiece?
Post by: wolkenreb on October 15, 2011, 03:56:05 PM
Hi.  I recently acquired  2 of these fantastic cats from Ebay.  They are frosted pressed glass, just under 7" high.  The base is clear glass.  There are no markings.  The pressed edges are quite sharp.

I wonder if anyone knows who made them and when?  Are they centrepieces?  (They are not flower holders/frogs as there are no holes in the base.)  Both cats face in the same direction, so not a 'pair' as such.  Any help would be much appreciated!  (I've had a good old internet trawl but with no results except for an identical item that was listed on Ebay Australia.)

Thanks Christine.  I say I trawled the net but didn't search the GMB!  Yes, it's definitely the same cat (although mine have clear bases but that's the only difference).  Pamela though perhaps Riedel, (new name to me) but as yet unknown.

Cheers!

You're not going doolally Rosie, at least I don't think so.  Yes, Christine's link goes to the recent posting (which I hadn't seen before I posted my query).  No ID as yet but I know you'll keep a look-out!! (http://serve.mysmiley.net/winking/winking0048.gif) (http://www.mysmiley.net)
