Picked this up yesterday evening at the fleamarket (when the remains are sold from the floor), saw a faint signature and payed 2,- Euro for it.
Golden apricot coloured, slightly mottled glass, quite substantial, diameter 23 cm , height 12 cm, polished pontil.
Deeply etched, leaf shaped decoration on the outside.
It is signed "Daum (cross symbol) Nancy France" near the base.
Is it an authentic Daum piece?
Any idea about date and designer?
Pre WWII glass is not my usual area of interest, so any help very much appreciated!
Thanks

Well done. It is one of the Daum etched pieces from the twenties/thirties. You will not find out a designer, but by the look of it it is undamaged and yes. top piece.

Ivo, as usual my deepest thanks for your sharing your knowledge!
It has some age wear and a minor rough spot at the rim, but overall condition is good I would say...
Sometimes even I am surprised at the things I manage to find here :)
(But the signature on this one is not easy to spot, maybe that's why nobody else got it)
Thanks again,
Michael

Michael's it's a lovely bowl even without the signature, that really is the icing on the cake! Congrats on a great find. :hiclp:

Thanks for your nice comments, folks! :hi:
To be honest, I had walked past this seller's stall before midday already, and hadn't noticed the bowl either (if it was displayed, and not packed away).
