I have no clue where or when this "interesting" vase was made. So any help very welcome! :)
Cylindrical shape, 24.5 cm high, quite thick clear glass, ground and polished base with big pontil scar, showing some wear.
The finish is quite special, with gold (?) leaf scattered on the surface, and trailing on top (sorry, I hope the pics do show this better than my description); the areas without trailing are slightly rough, and have a light iridescence to them....
I checked for a signature, but nothing.
So, new or old? Studio glass or contemporary Chinese? Or...?
Thanks,
Michael

Very nice piece and yes that is gold leaf, not sprinkled but the leaves break up when the piece is blown to size. Nicely made, could be a studio piece and not that recent.

Thanks a lot, Frank!
I did have the feeling that there was put some effort in this piece :)
I have looked through some (American) studio glass sites, and the techniques like gold leaf, iridescence, trailing are widely used.
My only concern is the lack of a signature...
