Title: Fenomena?
Post by: adam20 on October 24, 2011, 09:52:23 PM
This is on ebay and seems cheap enough but is it a Feromena vase or not - the size is wrong at 15cm according to designlassin and the top and base are not squared off re picture - but anyone with direct knowledge feel free to comment.

It is spelt Fenomena, example here: http://www.designlasi.com/en/content/fenomena-1419-still-nanny-en

It appears they may be Japanese: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,22469.0.html

I agree with John.  There are many of this type of vase - mostly in red - here in Australia.  Some I have seen on Ebay have even had a Japan sticker.  The quality of glass is way too thin for most Finnish glass with any claim to quality that I personally have come across.

Should have looked up Glass Obsessed link before I opened my response.

Obviously not Fenomena - that is cased in clear - the base makes that obvious.  The wall thickness is much greater and the topis ground flat.  I would suspect it weighs at least twice as much - maybe nearer triple.
