Title: Glass Flowers in Glass Bubble?
Post by: medieval feast on October 26, 2011, 03:31:27 PM
Hi All. Can anyone help with this funny thing? I've had it for 25 years. (I was a mere child when I bought it.) It's 5.5 inches tall. Is it a whimsey? Can anyone guess a value. It's oddly charming and the colors are bright. There's no damage.
Thank you, Jane

Lovely example of lampwork - meaning fashioned from prefab glass bars ' at the lamp' i.e. a gas flame. Seeing the delicate spiral the first name that jumps to mind is Bimini. But I'm sure someone will know in detail who made it, where and when.

By Jove, I think you've got it, Ivo. Anyway, you've certainly got its first cousin. Thank you!
