Pwt doorknobs were made by the Perthshire glass companies ages ago - glorious miilfiori ones.
(that one that appeared in your link gave me a fright, Rose  :help:  - not what I expected AT ALL - I thought you'd found the Scottish ones!)

They're available for sale in the visitor centre in Crieff.

Mind your diamond rings on those lovely doorknobs!

I seem to remember that Frank had a paperweight doorknob on every door of his apartment...even the cupboard!

Here's mine:

Vasart introduced them in the 1950s, Strathearn and then Perthshire continued them. http://www.ysartglass.com/Vascat/VasPV001.htm

And of course you can find antique too.

Thanks for expanding on my inadequate comment, Frank - I couldn't not mention the older Scottish doorknobs given the thread topic.  :smg:

As far as I know, our Adam Aaronson has some.  At least, I bought a few off of him once at a very reasonable price.  :D

Widely available although not commonly so. Hard to find without chips but chipped antique ones still fetch good prices. You can often find new ones in any good handle shop although not usually very nice. Mostly just plain. Waterford made them too but those would be very pricey even if they showed on the second market. Prices range from around 100 to two or three hundred, same price range as the paperweight knob ones for the most part, more for good antique ones. Although you might find the odd one on eBay goes for less. Vasart ones are the rarest buit also had the nicest brass parts, Strathearn did some in a yucky white metal and brass coloured as well as brass and the PP ones are all in a gaudy modern brass.
