Title: Could this vase be Czech?
Post by: mc3378 on October 30, 2011, 07:00:21 PM
I got this vase recently and I'm wondering where it may of been made. I seen a different style vase with the same blue glass threads on ebay that says it is a Czech vase. Mine is 12" tall 5 1/2" across the top and 3 1/2" across the bottom also the inside has raised areas where the threads are at on the outside. Thanks for any information you can give me.

Chinese I agree.  It you draw a nail over the top of the rim you will find it is course and matt, not high gloss polished. This is a characteristic of mass produced  glass from China, India and Romania - they just didn't find the time to finish it properly...

Thanks for the information about the top rim, I was worried about that when I bought it. I got it at a thrift store so the price was cheap, and I thought it was an interesting piece. I wasn't going to post it until I seen a different type of vase with the same blue glass threads on ebay that said it was czech, so I thought maybe  it's not from china. Again thanks for your help.
