Title: Grey Vase - Czech?
Post by: adam20 on November 06, 2011, 08:45:25 PM
Cased vase in blue/grey colour - 6" high with flat form - the form is oval with sharp sides - the top beautifully ground /polished and finished - base ground and polished.

Thought this could be Czech but not sure.

Any ideas?

Thanks Adam

One colour?  is it heavy?  A base shot would help, too.  so far, Czech would seem to be a possibility.

Thanks for the pictures. They give a much clearer idea of the vase. I don't recognize the vase, but elements of it are very Czech-like, as you thought.  The treatment of the mouth is different from what I've seen on Czech pieces and it's not a typical colour. I'd consider Mstisov, which moved to Karlovarske Sklo, and then perhaps ZBS. Also, I wouldn't rule out Scandinavian, at least as a second choice.

Jindrich would be the one to know whether this was Czech or not.

It looks more Scandi or German to me than Czech, but I can't point to anything specific.
