please help - will use for my charity vintage exhibition for The AIM (the arts in mind) in Oxford on Dec 4th if I can positively i.d.
thanks - Eleanor

Cant help with the maker but the Rd No would date it mid 1950's

This is made by one of the big container works, somewhere there is a link to 'modern' industry markings but it is not in the mark links post. Someone may recognise the shape for at least the product it was used for.

Apparently a Bulmers cider bottle - Hil had one too...

I knew I had seen it before... fancy (in other thread) calling it an art glass bottle... (http://www.debook.com/gifs/Mailpuke.gif) I mean it is a great design but art!

Great! I have a vintage Bulmers advert I am using on the packaging/food and drink stand - thanks to all for info - Eleanor

sorry, utter confusion with this one............. I've just realized that there doesn't appear to be a more recent contribution for this question later than 2011 - so how did this resurface again in very recent times??
Anyway I've now linked my reply to both threads - I think. :-\ and hope this covers any member who may have been interested.
""not so sure this helps with a maker - I'm not well up on soft drinks companies - am assuming these people were into soft drink and not hard liquor ........... R. N. Coate may have made this bottle, but unlikely in my opinion.
Two pix attached, and obviously a popular and successful design since there were two extensions, each of five years - am sure I've seen this shape somewhere in the past.
If any part of the Register text is illegible, let me know ........ I have other pix of that page which I can magnify.""

Now pinned down as being a Coates' Triple Vintage medium sweet cider bottle... see advert here:

Thanks to Paul and Fred for their info in running this one to earth. 8)

Interesting lack of apostrophe in the advertisement ::)
or was the registration typed up incorrectly and missed off the 's'
edit - ah, it appears the registered design was registered under an incorrect name spelling.
