Title: Pressed glass bird (wren I think) on round base. Any IDs?
Post by: wolkenreb on November 13, 2011, 02:13:42 PM
Hi.  This little bird is about 3.5" tall (to top of tail).  The body is frosted and the rest is not.  The base is a flat and smooth, irregular circle with faint inner circle line showing.  Would love to know more about her if anyone can help.  Thanks.

Hi Nancy  :

Can you post a pic on a dark background (same type of shots) but so we can get a clear, more defined pic of just the birdie?

I would have no idea if it is a wren....to me, it is just a bird

Thanks, look forward to those new images.  Clear glass is so hard to take a picture of.  You could even just use a black shirt or something.....I have done that  ;D  as a Simple solution.   Bunched it up at the back, or resting against something so the glass item has a black background

Hi Rose.   :hi:  Thanks for your post and photo tips.  I have taken your advice and here are the pics with black background - I think the dark background does show up the bird better.

I can't help thinking that this bird has been attached to something, taken off and the base reshaped.  Only because the base seems kind of shoddily shaped  round the edges - just my humble opinion!
