Title: Unknown vase, possibly Czech? Help please
Post by: davidfish1212 on November 17, 2011, 02:26:35 PM
Hi All,

I bought this vase at the weekend and was wondering if anyone recognises it. I was told it was an old bit of Murano glass when I bought it, I'm pretty sure its not Italian, I thought maybe Czech or modern Polish glass. Can anyone help. The vase is a green/grey colour and is 10" tall with a flat polished base.

Cheers in advance,

David.

It may be Whitefriars 9559, although your photos don't do it justice..........have a look at this link for comparison

If yours is the same then it is likely to be in the Ocean Green colourway.  I have seen them both with a flat   polished base and with a pontil mark.

Thats amazing!! Thats it  ( and you are right, my pictures dont do it justice ) I would never have placed this as a Whitefriars bit due to the polished base, thanks so much Emmi your a star :hiclp:
Don't know what to do with it now, I was going to sell it to raise funds to buy another bit of Whitefriars to add to my collection!!
Cheers, David
