Heya!
I picked up this one the other day even though it isn't primarily my area of interest since it is obviously not Czech. Some googling tells me it is a Mdina "Pulled ear"-vase, right? I've only seen late Mdina IRL and frankly I've never been particularly impressed, but this one is of much higher quality (at least to my untrained eye). It is unsigned and about 9" tall (15.5 cm). There's also a lot of iridescense going on, all in all an extremely 3D vase! Is there any way of judging when it was made?
Sorry for the poor photo!
Best Regards
Emil

Yes. A very good and unusual find. Early (button rim and amethyst) and HUGE. 6 inches would be more normal and the "ears" would normally be on the shoulders, not the "knees".

Thanks Christine! It has two levels of "ears", at the knees and slightly above the waist. Is that the way they were normally made or do most only have one level?
Best Regards

Two levels of ears is right

HAHAHA, it's actually slightly more than 6" (I had the ruler upside down :24: :-[ ) Thanks again!
I found this on ebay:

So I guess it was a good buy!

So normal, not huge!! :24: :24: :24: But yes, a good find

A wonderful find - a real beauty and from the early Michael Harris period, probably '69 - '71 ish.
;) Nothing wrong with your so-called "untrained" eye at all - it's working perfectly on its own - doesn't need trained. :smg:

Gorgeous Emil, I have two amethyst ones in my collection. I keep meaning to get a picture of all of my "pulled ear/shoulder vases" together to show the difference in shape, size, colour and quality. Here is my two, one has a lot of iridescence (silver chloride leaks on the surface) the other is just plain amethyst
