Title: Czech vase for ID, with remains of Borocrystal label
Post by: rocco on November 27, 2011, 01:36:21 PM
Any idea about factory and designer of this vase?

Stands 26 cm high, and there are the remains of a label reading "...choslov...", with a goblet foot underneath (so I am sure it once looked like this Borocrystal label (http://s04.trixum.de/upload2/B/W/BWJoC4VLmxdf129327220635P924.jpg)).

Thanks!
Michael

Interesting piece... odd shape... it doesn't exactly scream out 'Czech', does it?  (At least, it doesn't for me.)

I checked Jindrich's Czech Glass DVD, but haven't found anything similar to your vase.  [As a perfectly uneducated and unfounded guess:  Perhaps Zemek was the designer?   :-\]

Thanks, Anik :kissy:
I am uncertain as well in which "area" of Czech glass this vase belongs (the Borocrystal label doesn't help much).
Zemek is not a bad idea I think; I was leaning towards Mstisov or Chribska as maker -- both their pieces seem to come with this sort of label sometimes.

I have the vague feeling that I have seen something similar somewhere, but cannot find it :ho:

BTW there is some dark green colour towards the opening of the vase, not sure if this is clearly visible in the pic.
