Strange one ,this. Im leaning towards Bohemian in origin, but cant say ive seen anything similar.
Its well made, a dull matt frosted finish , its cased, i think . The shape makes me think of Bohemian.(i think its got some age)
10 inches tall.
Its got me stumped :thud:
Any ideas ??
Cheers

Reminds me of this sort of stuff, quite a few variations if you search the board: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,36144.0.html

So just let me say: Hi Andy! :)

Thanks chaps,
Ive seen lots of the Israeli stuff, its definitely not that, its got a lot more quality, i may be wrong on the age though,
could be more recent than i thought!
I will have a look through the board for something similar.
;)
Satin finish was the word i was looking for!!
Carlo Moretti Satinato has the same quality of manufacture, maybe a distant possibility

or Romanian? Do you think it might have been a lampbase rather than a vase though - that shape is a bit ..not vase-like to me.

Probably Israel - there are several "manufacturers" of this decoration, including Nahariya (Meyer) and Ilanit. The same acid bath technique is also used in Romania.
