I have a roemer style glass/bowl, which I had thought might be a czech repro/historismus, then more recently thought it might be German, but have recently seen it on sale as Whitefriars by the antiques dealers HC Baxter. HC Baxter seem to sell a lot of Whitefriars.
As you can see from the picture is it slightly strange green and amber mix.
The base and rim have been cut and polished. There is no pontil, polished of otherwise, but a small dip in the glass where one would be.
It is made to a high standard and no attempt has been to have any antique qualities to the glass.
It is a very unmetric exactly 5 inches across.
I bought this about 8-10 years ago and it already had wear to the bottom of the foot, so it's not brand new.
I was slightly shocked at what HC Baxter wanted for theirs, but I can't remember how that was now, just nearly falling out of my seat when I saw it.

not so sure about the 'modest price' claim. I'm unsure which of Baxter's pieces you are suggesting is the same as your bowl Kevin :huh: - although I appreciate pictures have been taken different angles, but I'm having trouble seeing a pedestal similar to yours. Is it the Spanish cut' example you are referring to? or perhpas I've mis-understood and they don't presently have your pattern for sale. Sorry this isn't a postcard.

Kevin, I'm no glass expert but the first thing that struck me was German (or that area) Roemer glassware.

Baxters must have sold it, as it's gone now.

A Römer (Roman) means a cup-shaped Wine glass in german, can be any period. Other than that I can´t contribute any else here, sorry:)
